To take off make-up, massage the balm onto a dry face, hold a flannel run under hot water over the face so the steam lifts it, then wipe it away; a muslin cloth adds a little exfoliation. Lyonsleaf suggest doing this morning and night. As a moisturiser, rub a very small amount between your fingers and massage it in; as a primer, use a little and wait a moment before foundation. It can be used near the eyes. Not for children under 3, or for anyone allergic to the daisy family. Patch test first.

Lyonsleaf's Beauty Balm is a water-free face balm used three ways: to take off make-up by the oil cleansing method, as a moisturiser, and as a primer under make-up or mineral sunscreen. It is made only from plant oils and herbal extracts - babassu, shea butter, jojoba and sunflower, with calendula - and scented with essential oils of palmarosa, clary sage, patchouli and rosemary. Choose the new formula with organic beeswax or the original vegan formula, as a 60 ml glass jar or an 8 ml sample.
Free from preservatives, emulsifiers, colourants and artificial fragrance. The new formula contains beeswax and is not vegan; the original formula is vegan and adds macadamia oil. The essential oils contain citral, geraniol, farnesol, limonene and linalool, among others listed below. 98% of the ingredients are organic or wild-harvested. Handmade in the UK.
