Mix a heaped teaspoon of powder with water, floral water, fresh avocado or natural yoghurt into a smooth paste that does not drip. Massage it gently onto clean, damp skin, avoiding the eyes, with circular movements if you want exfoliation. Leave it on for 5 to 15 minutes - if your skin is very dry, do not let it dry - then remove it with warm water and a cloth. Use once or twice a week, and finish with Beauty Balm or your usual moisturiser.

A powder face mask from Lyonsleaf, water-free, made from botanicals and minerals: Indian gooseberry (amla), oat kernel meal, fine pumice, pink French clay, rosehip, calendula and ginkgo powders, with a little xanthan gum. You mix it yourself just before use, so it needs no preservatives or emulsifiers. Choose the 30 g jar (about 8 applications) or a 4 g tin for one.
